Alright, so the entire thing isn’t edible, I wouldn’t go chewing on the light bulb or the added beads. The gummy bears are though, well, maybe not for long. However, when they were first placed onto the chandelier I’m sure that they were edible. Indoor home lighting fixtures have never been more unusual or edible then this yummy Gummi Bear Hanging Chandelier. This is the type of ceiling light that you’d expect to see in the Ritchie Rich comic books. The grand chandelier is the design work of Who would have thought that a chandelier constructed from gummy bears would look good? I certainly wouldn’t have, but if you look at this piece by Ya Ya Chou from a distance, it does look like a typically grandiose chandelier. A closer inspection reveals Design firm Jellio, makers of the oversized, rubber gummy bear lights and giant Revell model kits as wall art (blogged here in 2005), has added three new pieces to their repertoire of home furnishings made in the image of giant candies and toys. Some people want chandeliers worked over with precious metals, ornate carvings or layers of stained glass. Artist YaYa Chou, whose inner child is wholly intact, went for a chandelier covered by strings of Gummi Bears instead. Amazingly, the whole setup NY-based artist Kevin Champeny has a tasty eye for design. In fact, he's the dude who made this amazing chandelier from an estimated 3,000 gummy bears.
